Founded in 1994, the Selkirk and District Horticultural Society (SDHS) is a non-profit organization that supports the community by providing gardening information and activities, through guest speakers, community workshops, information sessions, field trips and links with other gardening associations.

Gardens

In the city of Selkirk the society maintains two beautiful gardens, the Main Street Community Garden located on Main and Shultz and Red Feather Farm located on Edstan Place just off Eveline toward the Red River.

Membership

The SDHS currently has upwards of 90 members. While the founding membership was primarily from the City of Selkirk, now only about 20% of members now reside in Selkirk and many members come from further afield: from St. Andrews, Lockport, St. Clements, East Selkirk, North Winnipeg, Cooks Creek, Beausejour, and the Interlake.
