Lower Fort Garry Walking Trail

Step back in time on the Lower Fort Garry Trail, a 2.1 km route that takes about 30 minutes to complete. This picturesque trail winds around the fort’s historic stone walls and leads into the grounds, where you can admire the beautiful limestone buildings.

The gravel pathways are perfect for walking, cycling, snowshoeing or pushing a stroller, making it accessible for all. Benches are placed throughout the trail to provide a chance to rest and take in the charm of this National Historic Site.

Open year-round, the site invites visitors to explore inside the buildings during the summer months for an additional fee.
