The Red River Paddle Challenge is a 44 kilometer (~27 miles) long distance paddling race on the Red River beginning in Winnipeg, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport, Manitoba. We welcome all types of paddling craft, including canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, outrigger canoes, dragon boats, etc. Basically our motto is if you can paddle it you can race it!

All racers are required to attend a safety briefing at 8:30 a.m. the morning of the race. The race starts at 9 a.m. sharp. Racers must check in at three checkpoints on the route. The checkpoints are for supply, support and logistics and they also have cut-off times. All checkpoints are rolling: Racers need not exit their boat, but they are responsible for assuring checkpoint staff have recorded them. All competitors can choose to paddle the entire distance either solo or tandem.
