Many gardeners are making room in their yards for native plants like milkweed so as to support pollinators, other beneficial insects, and the creatures that depend on them. Master Gardener Linda Dietrick will present native plants that are essential for the survival of these species and that can be attractive additions to garden designs, as well as non-native plants that can have ecological benefits.
Meet the Master Gardener: Linda Dietrick is a Master Gardener and a former editor of The Prairie Garden annual (2019-2021). Until her retirement in 2016 she was a professor of German at the University of Winnipeg. She has been gardening in one of Winnipeg’s older neighborhoods for 34 years.
