Free Painting Classes
The Gwen Fox Gallery is hosting free painting classes for children ages 7–12 throughout the summer! This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to get creative and learn the basics of painting in a fun environment.
Local artist and instructor Sharon Routley will guide children as they explore their artistic side.

The RM of St. Clements is having an Open House on August 14th from 2pm - 7pm at the East Selkirk Recreation Centre! It is a family friendly event. There will be a bouncy castle, soccer darts and face painting.

St. George Wakefield Farmers Market
The St. George Wakefield annual Farmers’ Market and Garage Sale returns on August 14 and 15 at the Clandeboye Community Centre.
Browse a great selection of fresh produce, homemade baking, garage sale treasures, and antiques. A canteen will also be available throughout the event.

Inclusion Golf Tournament
The Inclusion Selkirk Golf Tournament returns for a 6th year on August 20, 2026 at the Selkirk Golf and Country Club.

When the Selkirk Park Pool & Splashpad closes for the summer, it goes to the dogs - literally! The City of Selkirk invites your furry friends to come for a dip to close out the season.
Times: Dogs under 30lbs swim between 2-4 p.m. Larger K9’s swim between 4-7:30 pm.

The WAVE Artists’ Studio Tour celebrates 25 years of connecting art lovers with art!

Red River Paddle Challenge 2026
This year, Red River Paddle Challenge is celebrating a monumental milestone: the 100-year anniversary of the legendary Les Voyageurs Canoe Race!
In 1926, Winnipeg Canoe Club Commodore Fred G. Thompson started a 100 km canoe challenge from Winnipeg to Lockport via the Winnipeg Canoe Club, in honour of his brother, Lieutenant Edward “Pace” Thompson.
Red River Paddle Challenge is a 44 kilometre (~27 miles) long distance single day paddling race on the Red River beginning in Winnipeg, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport, Manitoba.
Les Voyageurs Challenge is a 110 kilometer (~68 miles) ultra distance paddling race on the Red River beginning in Ste Agathe, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport, Manitoba. Les Voyageurs is a two-day staged race where participants paddle from Ste Agathe to The Forks Historic Port in Winnipeg on day one and then on day two participants join in with the Red River Paddle Challenge paddlers and paddle to Lockport.

Take Root Fest is a festival meets conference meets summer camp experience. Gather on the farm to take root in community, in nature, in important skills for resilience. Workshops, local food, market, & music, kids activities, campfires, & more!

Urban Forest Strategy Open House
You’re invited to learn about the current state of Selkirk’s urban forest, review findings from the project to date, and provide feedback on the strategy as it continues to take shape at the Urban Forest Strategy Open House.
The City of Selkirk is developing a comprehensive Urban Forest Strategy that will provide a long-term, practical plan to protect, grow, and manage our urban forest. Information from the open house and all data collected will be analyzed over the summer and a first draft of the strategy is anticipated in October with presentation to council in December.

Park Play Pop-Ups
Join the City of Selkirk each week and explore a new park and enjoy facilitated games, activities, recreation equipment and more!
